About the role

NZEI Te Riu Roa is looking for a Trade Union Field Officer to join our team. You will report to the Lead Organiser and your role will include:
• Planning for regular contact and visibility for your assigned worksites/member groups
• Implement campaign and sector strategies to achieve union goals in your region
• Identifying, development and coaching of member leaders

Skills and experience

• Strong relational skills to manage worksite, group and member leader relationships
• Has experience working in union or social-impact organisation working to give people the tools to advocate for their cause
• A current driver’s licence
• An interest in publicly-funded education, commitment to Te Tiriti, unionism and social justice
• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a team situation
