If you no longer require membership of NZEI Te Riu Roa please fill in the below form to request a cancellation.
If you are going on leave without pay or parental leave from a position you are entitled to return to, we can put your subscriptions on hold (but retain your membership) for a period of time. To put your membership on hold please: contact us here.
If you have any questions about your membership cancellation, email membership@nzei.org.nz or call the Member Support Centre between 8:30am and 5.00pm from Monday - Friday on freephone 0800 693 443.
NZEI Te Riu Roa does not receive notification from employers when a member ceases employment with them so it is important to contact us if you are no longer employed in any position we cover to avoid overpayment.
Following Hui-ā-Tau 2024, the resignation period for members has been extended to 1 month. In practice this will be a 4 week notice period, because membership payments are aligned with fortnightly salary deductions. The date you select for cancellation of your membership must be at least 4 weeks from now.
