Notice under Section 39 of the Fair Pay Agreements Act 2022
NZEI Te Riu Roa applied to initiate a Fair Pay Agreement (FPA) for the Early Childhood Education sector on 1 May 2023. On 19 June 2023, NZEI Te Riu Roa received a notice from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) approving our FPA application. This notice can be found at the MBIE website.
As the initiating union, we are very excited to begin the process and work together to improve ECE in Aotearoa.
Public notices in major newspapers have been placed and will appear during the week of 19 June 2023. NZEI Te Riu Roa is currently making endeavors to notify all employers who may have covered employees of MBIE’s approval of our application.
Employers are required to share with their employees a notice from NZEI Te Riu Roa informing them that bargaining has been approved. You can find that notice here.
Employers are also required to send employee contact information to NZEI Te Riu Roa, unless employees opt out using the form here. Contact information in the first instance can be sent to payparity@nzei.org.nz.
