About the role
NZEI Te Riu Roa is looking for a Director of Communications to join our team in the New Year. You will report to our National Secretary and your role will include:
- Leading the communications function at NZEI Te Riu Roa
- Coaching, developing and leading the communications team
- Supporting content development for member recruitment and activation
- Strategic analysis of the communications environment
- Proactive and reactive media work
- Coaching senior leaders and governance representatives for impactful communication
- Using political acumen to promote union/membership-based organisations
Skills and experience
- Leveraging the media to engage members and the public
- Experience in a campaigning environment
- Management of a creative team
- Commissioning and developing visual branding and campaign iconography
