Kua tae te wā
Kua Tae Te Wā involved eighteen months of tireless campaigning by members and a long period of deadlock. The campaign focused on making teaching an attractive and valued profession.
From 2016 to 2021, NZEI Te Riu Roa members participated in an annual survey about primary principals’ hauora. This research provided a strong evidence base about how our principals were faring and how their work was affecting their health and wellbeing.
This survey programme has now ended, but the research provided evidence about the stresses and challenges of these leadership roles and has been vital to supporting our Te Ao Kei Tua campaign to win better conditions for our primary principals.
